In this presentation, Dr. Okeson describes how changes in the integrity of temporomandibular joint structures
can produce some of the common signs and symptoms related to intracapsular disorders. As a result, the
clinician will understand what changes occur in the TMJ that produce joint clicking and how specific joint
symptoms relate to different intracapsular diagnoses. The etiology of joint clicking is reviewed in detail so the
clinician can better appreciate treatment options. Video illustrations are used to graphically demonstrate normal
and abnormal disc movements.  Considerations regarding the progression of intracapsular disorders are
discussed along with treatment considerations.
