Dr. Okeson continues this series on orofacial pain disorders
with a discussion of continuous neuropathic pain. These
conditions certainly pose a management problem and
therefore every orofacial pain clinician needs to appreciate the
etiology, clinical presentation and management of these
conditions. Too often these pain disorders are
miss-diagnosised and therefore mismanaged. Dr. Okeson
uses a graphic depiction of the mechanisms responsible for
these disorders which helps the clinician appreciate the
complexity of this chronic pain disorder. Details are provided
for management.
